Young Miss Gloria Odiaze and Mr. Preye John Dede were sent on the 13th day of July 2012 to Italy for a special training on cycling.
Their new coach Andrea Tonti (Deputy Coach, Italian Cycling Federation) has reported that they are improving greatly in their skills, though there are still more to learn.
Timeline on Gloria and Preye Training Sections in Italy
Saturday July 14
Arrival
Sunday July 15
They were given two provisional bikes for first 40km of riding in Italy.
Monday July 16
Another smooth 40km ride to get used to the new bikes and riding shoes. On that same day, blood and urine test were carried out.
Tuesday July 17
80km ride with female and male professionals in an hilly area (Montegranaro) in Italy.
Wednesday August 1
A smooth cycling of 2 hours along the long beach mainly to learning how to change the gear.
Thursday August 2
intense training with the Junior team of Spendolini Construction for a total of 85 km route with 2 climbs of 8 km each.
Friday August 3
Today is one of the most Important among the ones Gloria and Preye stayed in Italy. They had several visits and test scores at the cycling center Mapei, number 1 in Italy and one of the most important in the World.
Saturday, August 4
Today was dedicated to prepare a small video on the project.
Tuesday August 7
Training with Junior Team Spendolini Construction. They did 100km inclusive of two climbs of 8 km each. It was observed that Gloria has improved greatly over the 25 days of her stay in Italy and Preye has been very consistent in improvement and in good synchrony in the group.
Wednesday August 8
In the morning they observed a light training. In the evening Gloria and Preye went to watch a night race at Cattolica were the Junior boys, with whom they train, had a cycling race. It was a very spectacular competitive race with more than 200 participants of the Junior category.
Thursday August 9
Last training session.
